Grieving the living
Sorrow invades us when we learn of our loved one’s terminal illness. Our mourning begins long before their final breath and continues long after the funeral. Only when life presents us with such heart-wrenching experiences can we truly understand how difficult it is.
Practicing active listening, and opening ourselves to sensitive and difficult conversations with our loved one, allow us to be there emotionally. It’s our last opportunity to share our love, our last opportunity to say our goodbyes. It can be an invaluable experience.
